Sunny Daze was first released as one of the Rainbow Celebration Ponies in summer 2003.

Sunny Daze has starred in many of the G3 My Little Pony cartoons and DVDs, including A Charming Birthday, Dancing in the Clouds, A Very Minty Christmas, The Princess Promenade, A Very Pony Place and cameo in Meet the Ponies, in all of which her voice was played by Adrienne Carter. Sporty and athletic, Sunny Daze occasionally would wear shades. Often hanging out with her friend Sparkleworks, she tended to have a very laid back attitude, often referring to everyone with shortened nicknames.
Sunny Daze makes an appearance in the PC Play Pack as one of four selectable ponies. She must complete several tasks in order to prepare for the Friendship Ball at Celebration Castle.

Special Edition
In 2003, a promotion for the My Little Pony toyline Hasbro sold a limited amount of numbered ponies on Ebay through the ebay seller WorldinAdvance. There were 50 of each pony sold and they were numbered 1-50 with an official foil sticker placed on their packaging. These ponies also came with a certificate.
