US Unicorn and Pegasus Pamphlet © 1984

The Unicorns were introduced in Year Two and most closely resemble the European unicorn. Each unicorn can perform different magic, such as Twilight, who is able to teleport short distances, and Fizzy, who can make huge bubbles.

Year Two (1983-1984)

Sunbeam's Backcard

The Year Two pegasus ponies and unicorns were sold in the same assortment, and there are two pegasus ponies and four unicorns in the set. They are the first ponies to feature glitter symbols. Each unicorn has a "mane stripe," which is a smaller, rooted third row of hair in a different color near the middle of her mane. The unicorns introduced the Moondancer or "Walking" pose and the Glory or "Proud" pose.

The unicorns are also featured in the same commercial as the Earth Ponies and pegasus poniesseen here.

Lyrics are as follows, sung to the familiar tune:

My Little Pony, unicorn,

A magical pony with beautiful hair.

My Little Pony, pegasus,

Imagine my pony flying through the air.

The new little ponies, in pretty poses,

Sitting and turning and prancing too.

My Little Pony, My Little Pony,

My pony, I love you.

My pony, I love you.

Glory, Moondancer, and Twilight are all featured characters in the Rescue at Midnight Castle/Firefly's Adventure pilot episode. Glory and Twilight are secondary characters, and Moondancer has a non-speaking role.

Each pony includes a shooting star brush, ribbon, and a round puffy sticker, as well as an order form for Ember.
