Year Three US Pamphlet © 1985

Year Three expanded upon several of the previous year’s pony sets and introduced some new sets, as well. The is the year that brought us Megan, the ponies’ human friend ( in a special set with Sundance), and the first set of Baby Sea Ponies. More Mail Order ponies were also released.



My Little Pony (Earth Ponies)

This year’s release is again a set of six ponies. Applejack and Bow-Tie were released with longer, curly hair in this assortment.

Unicorn and Pegasus Ponies

Gusty's Backcard

The Year Three unicorns include four new characters and two rereleases – Glory and Moondancer. Both rereleased ponies are unchanged but include new accessories. There are also two new pegasus ponies this year, as well as two rereleases with longer, curly hair – Firefly and Medley.

Rainbow Ponies

Confetti’s Backcard

Six new Rainbow Ponies were released this year. Again, there are two earth ponies, two pegasus ponies, and two unicorns.

The second and last adult Sea Ponies set includes six new Sea Ponies.

Special Releases

There are two special release sets in Year Three – Megan & Sundance and a new version of Ember with a cassette tape called "Ember’s Dream or Amber’s Dream".

Both playsets released this year included a baby pony, and both are earth ponies.

Mail Order Ponies

Mail order ponies were sold by order form included with other ponies sold in stores. Consumers purchased them with a combination of horseshoe points clipped from their store-purchased ponies' packages and a check or money order.


Birthflower Ponies

This year’s mail order ponies are a set of 12 birthflower ponies. Each pony's symbol is the flower associated with the corresponding birth month, and all are earth ponies.
