G1 Characters
In Generation 1 the stories of the My Little Ponies were told in two animated TV specials, a theatrical movie, two TV shows and various My Little Pony comic books.
The toys shown are representative though more than one may exist per character.
Over time the animation style and artwork significantly changed, as one might expect over a period of 13 years. Ponies in the shows or printed media sometimes differed slightly from the toys they were based on.
