In Generation 1 the stories of the My Little ponies were told in two TV series, several movies (dubbed in a variety of languages), and various My Little Pony comic books.
The toys shown are representative though more than one may exist per character. "N/A" as in "not applicable" means the character did not appear in the movies and/or shows or such a toy was not made.
Over time the animation style and artwork significantly changed, as one might expect over a period of 13 years. Ponies in the shows or printed media sometimes differed slightly from the toys they were based on.
