Pinkie Pie is a G4 Earth Pony. She is a main character in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and was loosely inspired by G3 Pinkie Pie and G1 Surprise. Early on in the show's development, Pinkie Pie was envisioned as a Pegasus pony, similar to Surprise. However, she would switch places with Fluttershy, with Pinkie Pie becoming an Earth Pony while Fluttershy became a Pegasus. Pinkie Pie's Pegasus design can be spotted on the Hasbro style guide. As a main character, Pinkie Pie has been released in toy form multiple times.

Pinkie Pie lives in Ponyville, where she works as a baker at Sugarcube Corner. She is extremely outgoing and happy, and is good friends with everyone in Ponyville. She grew up on a rock farm, but gained her cutie mark after discovering her talent for throwing parties and making other ponies happy. Though she is an earth pony, she has a unique "Pinkie Sense" which allows her to predict incoming events based on what body parts twitch. She is known for breaking the fourth wall at times and is shown defying normal physics, usually as part of a cartoon gag. Pinkie Pie represents the Element of Laughter.

Pinkie Pie is voiced by Andrea Libman (who also voices Fluttershy). Pinkie Pie's singing voice is provided by Shannon Chan-Kent.
