Fluttershy in My Little Pony: A New Generation

G5 Fluttershy is a G5 My Little Pony first introduced in 2021.

Many moons ago, the pegasus Fluttershy was a Guardian of Friendship who represented the element of Kindness. Once a shining symbol of a united Equestria, now she is nothing but a legend whose story is passed down by the few that believe in it.

Unliked most examples of reused names in My Little Pony, G5 Fluttershy is intended in-universe to be the same character as G4 Fluttershy.

Fluttershy is a historical figure and the same Fluttershy from G4 that lived in Equestria many moons before G5's story began. Sunny Starscout's father, Argyle Starshine, told her stories of Fluttershy and the other Mane 6 when she was a filly, and they were some of the only ponies who believed in her existence before the end of My Little Pony: A New Generation. Fluttershy makes a cameo appearance at the beginning of A New Generation as a imaginary character in the game Sunny, Hitch Trailblazer and Sprout Cloverleaf play as foals. Sunny has a wooden toy of Fluttershy made by her father. Fluttershy's Cutie Mark appears on Argyle's map of ancient Equestria.

She appears in a flashback story told by Discord in the IDW comics using her design from The Last Problem. A prerecorded message from Fluttershy is what convinces Discord to stand down after he steals the pegasus Unity Crystal from the Mane 5. She makes another brief appearance in a single panel of The Storm of Zephyr Heights Issue #3 as an example of pegasi being able to walk on clouds.

In the My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale episode Misty-rious New Room, a stained glass window of the G4 Mane 6, including Fluttershy, defeating Nightmare Moon can be seen.

Friendship Shine Collection

Friendship Shine Fluttershy is a 1.5-inch mini figure with no articulation. She reuses a G4.5 blind bag mold and was released as part of a Target-exclusive set along with 13 other figures.
