The Unicorn and Pegasus Ponies are the first fantasy characters for the brand. They have two groups of releases – one in Year Two and another in Year Three. They are the first ponies to feature glitter symbols. Each unicorn pony has a "mane stripe," which is a smaller, rooted third row of hair in a different color near the middle of her mane.

Medley's Backcard

Year Two introduced a few new poses with this set: the Firefly Pose (called the "prancing" pose in the commercial), the Moondancer or "Walking" Pose, and the Glory or "Proud" Pose. These ponies are featured in a commercial with the Year Two Earth Ponies.

Lyrics are as follows, sung to the familiar tune:

My Little Pony, unicorn,

A magical pony with beautiful hair.

My Little Pony, pegasus,

Imagine my pony flying through the air.

The new little ponies, in pretty poses,

Sitting and turning and prancing too.

My Little Pony, My Little Pony,

My pony, I love you.

My pony, I love you.

All but Sunbeam are featured in the Rescue at Midnight Castle/Firefly's Adventure pilot episode. Firefly is the main protagonist, while Glory, Medley, and Twilight are supporting characters. Moondancer has a non-speaking role, as she is abducted by Scorpan within the first five minutes and spends most of her screentime transformed into a monster.

Each pony includes a shooting star brush, ribbon, and a round puffy sticker, as well as an order form for Ember.
